Our reign as South Leinster and Leinster Senior Football champions of 2017 is over after we were beaten by FCJ Bunclody on a scoreline of 3-12 to 0-11 on Wednesday Jan 10th. Played in Bunclody the concession of 3 goals was the key difference between the teams. The match was played in excellent conditions and in a great spirit and all our team - with 21 players seeing action on the day - lost nothing in defeat. In fact the team played their hearts out and tried their very best from start to finish. While the players may be thinking about - if only - and so on - there is the satisfaction that they won their first game against a fancied Rathangan and gave of their best yesterday ! After 3 years of being All Ireland Champions in 2015, being Leinster Champions in 2017 - the players realise what it takes to be really successful - a serious effort and that little bit of lady luck too! Well done to all the panel and not forgetting their mentors also! Thanks too to the supporters who travelled to the games this year! Next year will not be long coming around... more challenges lie ahead!
